🍅 Pan Tumaca with Jamón Serrano
Rustic, juicy, and glorious — crusty bread rubbed with tomato and crowned with cured ham, the soul of Spain in a single bite.
📝 Ingredients (serves 2)
2–4 slices of rustic country bread or ciabatta
2 ripe tomatoes
1 garlic clove, peeled
Extra virgin olive oil, to taste
Salt, to taste
4 slices of Jamón Serrano or Jamón Ibérico
🍳 Instructions
1. Toast the bread
Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp on the outside, but still tender inside.
2. Prepare the tomato pulp
Cut the tomatoes in half and grate the flesh into a bowl, discarding the skins.
Add a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Stir to combine.
3. Add the garlic touch
While the toast is still warm, gently rub one side of each slice with the peeled garlic clove.
4. Assemble your pan tumaca
Spoon a generous amount of tomato mixture onto each slice.
Top with one or two slices of Jamón Serrano.
Finish with a light drizzle of olive oil if desired.
🌿 Kuisit Tip
Choose deeply ripe, even slightly overripe tomatoes — their intense flavor is what makes this dish truly shine.
